Our Homeland

For our homeland [citizenship, commonwealth] is in the heavens [that exists even now] – [has its beginning] out of [from] whence a Savior we await, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20; is as literal as possible – C.E.M.).

The English words homeland, citizenship, and commonwealth are the many shades of thought translated from the Greek word politeuma. In fact, the English word “politics” derives its meaning from this very source. In other words, our politics, in the true sense of the word, is in the heavens.

Elijah’s Coming
by C.E. McLain (1909-1990)

The content of this work is the result of some forty years of learning, unlearning and relearning the truths of the Divine Library. These are neglected truths of prophecy which disturb the status-quo: “The Rapture, The Tribulation and The Millennium,” all in that order.

Clifford “Mac” McLain was born in Blanchard, OK. He received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Atlanta Bible Institute and later his Doctor of Divinity from Trinity Bible Seminary in Atlanta. He was founder of Grace Institute of the Bible and Northside Bible Church in Oklahoma City. He was also host of the radio program, “What’s the Question?” Author of several books, McLain’s principal emphasis was on the calling of Ephesians 3:9: “To make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery.” Consequently, his works focused on the Apostle Paul’s epistles written after Acts 28:28 – the “Mystery” letters.

The Gospel’s Kingdom Commission

He said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:15-18).

Mark’s Gospel, like Matthew’s and Luke’s, is primarily a Kingdom book and I am satisfied that none of them contains the church’s marching orders – not even the so-called “Great Commission” of Matthew 28:18-20.

This we would call the “Kingdom Commission.” Of course, we are well aware that it is often spoken of as the “Great Commission” of the Church, but we are convinced that this is an error. It would be a strange thing to find the church’s commission in the Kingdom Gospel.

The commission on Matthew 28:19-20 instructs the eleven to teach them “to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”

Not some things, but all things. The things that Jesus commanded were given while He was a minister of the Circumcision. The apostles chosen by the descended Christ had a ministry which differed from the apostles of the ascended Christ.

God’s Two Schools: Israel, and the Body of Christ

Christ’s life, suffering, death and resurrection form the strong, unshakable, reinforced concrete foundation on which two school buildings have been built. The buildings are connected by a central hall through which the students enter. That hall has “In Christ” over the doors.

One group went to the building on the right, which is called “Israel.” In the future they will rule and bless the peoples of the earth.

The other group goes to the building on the left, called “The Body.” They are being trained for work in heaven.

The handbook for the students in the “Israel” school was written by Peter and the others; the handbook for the “Body” school was written by Paul.

Parallel schools, different handbooks; based on the work of one and the same Genius.

“Church” Buildings

There is, then, no such thing as an earthly sanctuary now. Any building which, by its form or furniture, encourages the thought of a worldly sanctuary really misrepresents Christ, and is a step backward to Judaism. The Church is a heavenly body, and all of its testimony should be of that character. As to money for buildings, the Church is not an earthly corporation, and needs not to own houses and lands in this world.

Our Attitude Toward Those Who Oppose

Israel’s warfare is with flesh and blood on the earth. Ours is with wicked spirits in the celestial realms. We should always remember that those who oppose us are merely the intermediaries used by the spiritual forces and treat them accordingly. It is not our place to wrestle with blood and flesh but to look beyond the human instrument to the real adversary in the spirit world. Material weapons are worse than useless. Our attitude toward men should be one of purest conciliation, not strife.

Forming Associations

A brother writes – “I am preaching the doctrine of restitution and God is blessing my labors; now if I should wish to form an association of those who believe as we do, what course will I pursue?”

I would answer – Don’t do it; don’t form any association. If “the love of the truth” will not hold you together, nothing will. If you possess “the unity of the spirit” (Ephesians 4:3), you do not need outward organization; if you have not that unity, organization is worse than useless, it is positively harmful, because it fosters the sectarian spirit. Do not form a sect, but cultivate the pilgrim spirit; we are not of this world; our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20).

Misappropriation of Promises Not Ours

November 28, 2017

(Have the Goodie read to you!)

Accustomed to applying all that is in the Bible to themselves, and wishing to appropriate any attractive promise, they are apt to misapply, to their own great loss, promises which are wholly inconsistent with the glorious inheritance of the Body of Christ, made to other people under totally different circumstances. Hence necessarily there is confusion and perplexity.
