Come Out of the Entrapments

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ” (Colossians 2:8).

Many have used these words to uphold their own interests, but the power of Body life is what is at risk. The single greatest tragedy of the mechanism of belief systems is that they suppress and ultimately rob saints of the power of their standing in Christ. The largest arena for philosophy, tradition and vanity is in the context of “the knowledge of good.” Our Apostle begs us to come out from these entrapments, to be separate, to walk as we have been bought. The lost can’t help but flounder from thought to tradition and back again, but the redeemed have been set free. Oh! What power is ours in a complete standing in The Lord Jesus Christ! Won’t you come out and just rest in it?

The centuries since the mystery has been revealed have been filled with those who appear to have it, those who glory in their appearance to have it, those who in sincerity believe that their appearance has merit; and yet these lives ultimately demonstrate that their form of godliness brings forth fruit unto death. There is no winning politics in this, no gain in social posturing; only victory for the adversary who so easily deceives even the justified. The only safety is outside of the camps and In Christ Jesus, daily living out “Body life.”

“For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward” (II Corinthians 1:12).
